ICTYOS
SQUAMA® RAW Royal Blue
Description
A bright blue that never goes out of fashion.
Squama® is an exceptional salmon leather with unrivalled properties. Its great suppleness and tight, perfectly symmetrical grain make it an easy-to-use material for ornamentation, watchmaking, sheathing and leather goods. Its strength and finesse make it unique.
With their soft, natural feel, the unfinished leathers in the RAW collection highlight the natural relief of fish skin. These supple leathers will develop a patina over time, adding a slight sheen, a gradual plating of the scaled pattern and nuances of color.

About ICTYOS
ICTYOS combines the traditional know-how of a French tannery with an eco-responsible approach by transforming fish skins from the food industry into top quality sea leather.
Respecting Biodiversity
- Recycling of fish skins
- No breeding for skin
- No endangered species
Sustainability Details
In order to guarantee the highest quality of sea leathers, ICTYOS’ tanning processes require a careful selection of the finest fish skins from their French agri- food partners. To control the traceability of supplies, ICTYOS relies on a network of local partners and reduces its carbon footprint thanks to this short circuit. By recovering skins that were initially destined for destruction, ICTYOS does not increase fishing and use smartly the available resources in an up-cycling logic.
ICTYOS favors vegetable tannins composed of leaves, roots or fruits to minimize the impact on deforestation.
