European Limewash LW-71
$95

KEIM European Limewash is a classic, old-world finish with hydrated lime as its binder and only the finest natural mineral pigments. It is a concentrated lime paint made with pit lime that has matured for at least three years.
The finish provides a soft patina and slightly mottled appearance reminiscent of ancient Roman frescoes. Mineral pigments paired with the subtle textures and chalky nature of limewash create tone-on-tone colour variation; while whites and light colours are popular, the true beauty of limewash shows in fully pigmented, deep and dark colours.

Why it works?+
Hydrated lime is the binder, so the finish is entirely mineral and entirely natural. Lime paint forms with less surface tension than ordinary paints, which matters on delicate masonry surfaces.
It is extremely vapor-permeable, allowing masonry walls to breathe naturally, and provides natural dehumidification.
The lime binder keeps interacting with the environment as the coating cures and ages, producing a patina that cannot be replicated with latex or acrylic finishes.
No primer is required on bare masonry, where it is a two-coat system; Interior Mineral Primer is required for bare and previously painted interior surfaces.
The finish is reversible for up to one week, which makes it suitable for historic restoration and preservation work.
